If fans of your art don’t like something so much does that mean that you should change it? Part of me says yes, especially with this medium, but the other part of me says no because I don’t create things for other people to enjoy, I create them for my own pleasure. If this is changed I think it will set the precedent for a lot of mediums that if consumers don’t like something they are entitled to get a “better” version of a piece.
Mattress Factory
I think the Mattress Factory is really cool. That being said I don’t fully understand how to make a site specific installation in a ziplock bag. After reading some of the mattress factory site it seems more like the space is defining the object more than the object is defining the space.
